Backyard Bird Feeding Solutions

squirrel on railing  starlings

While summer continues to be a wonderful time to feed the birds, unwanted feeder visitors can be troublesome.

With the proper feeders, food and accessories, you can enjoy your favorite birds and limit these possible problems.

Safflower is a small, white seed that is high in protein and fat. Most song birds eat safflower, however, starlings, grackles and squirrels typically do not.

By offering safflower you can decrease the traffic of starlings, grackles and red-winged blackbirds that crowd your feeders and chase away the birds you want to see.

Cages Limit Squirrels & Large Birds

Surrounding your tube, suet or cylinder feeders with a cage makes it possible for the smaller birds like finches, chickadees and other colorful birds to eat, but doesn't allow squirrels, grackles, pigeons and starlings to get to the feeder.

With our variety of feeder cages, you control the size of bird that dines at your feeder.

Our cages will fit a variety of feeder styles and sizes.

The Eliminator - Our Top-of-the-Line Squirrel-Proof Feeder

The Eliminator™ allows you to stop squirrels from eating your seed.

Featuring unique, weight-sensitive technology, the feeder's seed ports are closed when a squirrel touches the perch ring. You can set the sensitivity level to also exclude large birds such as pigeons or doves.

It's easy to hang, holds about three quarts of seed and is backed with a limited lifetime guarantee.

Other Weight-Sensitive Feeders

Our Fundamental Feeder, Squirrel Buster and Mini Squirrel Buster feeders also have the ability to shut down squirrel traffic.

They are smaller weight-sensitive feeders that will help your budget by reducing squirrel raids at your feeders.

Holscher baffle

Baffle Your Squirrels

Baffles can help make your bird feeding station squirrel and raccoon-resistant.

Our Advanced Pole System® (APS) Squirrel and Raccoon Baffles are made of durable, powder-coated steel and can easily be added to our Advanced Pole System® .

Customers tell us that cylinder stovepipe baffles are the very best pole baffles. Our six- and eight-inch diameter stovepipe baffles are too wide for critters to climb, and the length of the baffles doesn't allow critters to jump to the feeders. Squirrel baffles are shorter, raccoon baffles are longer. By using a baffle you can put up multiple squirrel-free feeders on one set-up!

   Mandarin Baffle

Squirrels are crafty. Once they have leaped onto your feeder pole they can hang by their toes while stretching to get to your feeders.  The Mandarin Baffle's shape and size thwart this strategy.

Hi perch hummingbird feeder

Keep Hummingbirds Happy

Hummingbirds don't like ants or bees, but they sure love nectar!

Our WBU Hummingbird Feeders have a built-in ant moat to keep ants out. And the extended ports on the inside of the feeder are designed to accommodate nectar guards that keep small bees and flies out but still allow your hummingbird to get to the nectar. A perfect combination of form and function and the feeders have a lifetime guarantee.

WBU's Hi-Perch Hummingbird Feeders entice these little beauties to land and drink, and you may get a better look at them with the higher perch too.
